The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)


IT Transit company has executed in order of  'Ukrgazvydobuvannya' JSC the works with using the UAV on the orthophotoplans formation and three-dimensional modeling of the gas field and its ground infrastructure.

Use of the UAV makes it possible to solve the following production tasks at "Ukrgazvydobuvannya" JSC gas fields:


  • detailed survey with high precision and a description of entire sectors with infrastructure objects for filling geoinformation systems with data at different levels and for various purposes;
  • fast and high-quality detection of the most defects determined by walking rounds;
  • video transmission in real time at emergency diagnostics;
  • fully automatic  flight on route, set by points, adjustment (adding, deleting and moving route points),
    full reloading of the flight mission;;
  • operational mapping for line certification, cadastral registration and protection, intersections analysis with other artificial and natural objects;
  • thermovision and ultraviolet state diagnostics of the power lines protective zone.

Unmanned aerial vehicles of rotary type manufactured by SZ DJI Technology Co., Ltd (China) were used for aerial photography.

Aerial photography is carried out both within predefined specified polygons and along linearly extended objects (pipelines, power lines, transport communications). Characteristics and parameters of the UAV flight task are determined on the basis of the tasks and requirements for the ordered digital products. Aerial photographs processing is performed using both commercial software solutions and in the "open-source" environment.
